Every year we host our Anchored Mamas retreat and every year there is at least one mama who almost did not come. She had a hundred reasons not to. And every single year that mama reaches out afterward and says the same thing. It changed everything. That is why we keep doing this. And that is why applications for our 2026 Anchored in Strength retreat are open right now.
This retreat was created for the mama who is raising a child with special needs and has been running on empty for longer than she wants to admit. Whether you are still waiting on a diagnosis, deep in the daily grind of caregiving, or making plans for your child's future, you know what it is to feel invisible. To feel like nobody truly gets it. For three days in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia you get to exhale, be known, and be completely poured into. Every meal, every experience, every single moment fully covered at zero cost to you.
This is a faith-based retreat hosted by Lumina of Hope Foundation, a 100% volunteer-run women's ministry. God is all over everything we do and these retreats are no exception. You can expect daily devotionals, guest speakers, gentle hiking, a hot tub, s'mores around the fire, a professional photo session on your last full day, and a private Facebook community to connect with your retreat sisters before you even arrive. You will come as a stranger and leave as family. That happens every single time without fail.
